SHOPPING SERVICES

Reliant Protective Services, Inc. provides a wide range of shopping services for its clientele. This service is also, at times, referred to as a mystery shopping service.

The purpose of a shopping service is to determine if employees are properly conducting the business of the company, are properly trained and adhering to stated company policies and procedures, and to determine if any fraud, theft, or other illegal activities are being conducted.

There are two basic kinds of shops that are conducted. The first is called a courtesy shop. In this type of shop the goal is to determine if the employee has the knowledge and training to perform their functions properly. The employees product knowledge, salesmanship, appearance, and courtesy are gauged by making contact with the employee; engaging them in a sale, asking questions, and determining the results.

The second type of shop is the integrity shop. In this shop the investigator tries to determine if theft, fraud; or collusion is present. Situations are presented that would allow a dishonest employee to flourish. This is not entrapment. In these shops the investigator checks on correctness of pricing, change given back, product return paperwork accuracy, credit card sales, and many other areas.

These shops can be used in a retail store, restaurant, bar, new home sales, apartment leasing, casino, and many other types of venues.

All agents used are properly trained, licensed, age and sex appropriate for the venue being shopped and will provide a complete written report as to what has transpired. Specialized forms are available for certain types of locations.
